This is an unflashy place in an unflashy location; Grays Inn Road is a rather functional thoroughfare at the best of times. But as soon as I walked through the door, delicious aromas of Indian cooking suggested that we had made a good choice.
As well as a Mix Grill Combo, we had Darjeeling Momos as a starter; these were a sort of pastry puff with minced chicken inside. They were very good, and I think we should have ordered two portions.
For the main course I opted for the quaintly named “Mum’s Chicken Curry”. It was mid-level on the spiciness scale, and very tasty. Excellent vegetable side dishes included Saag Paneer and Bhindi Dopyaza. A final bought-in Mango Sorbet (a huge portion) completed the feast.
The house Merlot was extremely drinkable, the service was excellent and the bill was reasonable. What not to like? Another visit soon methinks.
