Definitive Reviews of London’s Indian Restaurants

Brilliant (The) 9

This is undoubtedly one of the best Indian restaurants in the UK. It was started in the 1970s by two brothers who came here from Kenya, and has since expanded to become the 200+ seat restaurant we know today.

The dishes are described as “North Indian with a Kenyan slant”. That means you’ll find various dishes that are quite unusual or even unique. The Brilliant Butter Chicken is a must-have starter. It’s not like Butter Chicken in most Indian restaurants; instead it’s a variant of Chikken Tikka but with a much more succulent, buttery taste. The Chilli Chicken starter is an equally delicious spiced-up variant.

Their most popular main courses include Methji Chicken, made with fenugreek, and Palak Chicken, made with spinach and tomato. If you are going as a large party, you can order triple-portions of the most popular dishes, or you can get a variety of dishes served on a rotating stand.

The Brilliant has won a string of awards – deservedly. Highly recommended.
