Definitive Reviews of London’s Indian Restaurants

Drummond Villa 6

There are many Indian restaurants in Drummond Street, a thoroughfare close to Euston Station. But most of them seem to be exclusively vegetarian. Not my thing.

So one Tuesday evening we tried the Drummond Villa. It is a small but quite smart restaurant on the north side of the street. White table cloths create a traditional look.

We started with a Vegetable Mix, as well as a Tandoori Mixed Grill. Both were fine, if a little unexciting. For mains we chose Chicken Sag and “Mr Naga Chicken”. The latter was not as hot as I had hoped, but the taste was OK. The King Prawn Sag tasted fine but there weren’t very many prawns.

Other reviewers seem to have found the service to be very below standard. This was not my experience; the waiters were charming and friendly, and everything arrived in good time.

In conclusion: average food, good value, excellent service.
