Definitive Reviews of London’s Indian Restaurants

India India 8

India India — so good they names it twice! But in fact the restaurant is somewhat unobtrusive; a friend who lives round the corner said he had never noticed it, despite walking past its frontage on most days.

Northfields may not be an obvious destination for visitors to London (unless they get lost on the way to Heathrow), so it seems the clientele at this establishment is almost entirely made up of local residents. And that clientele seems to be very loyal, judging from the many reviews on other websites.

Certainly the welcome we received on a weekday evening was very good: the friendly and attentive staff were efficient, but not over-familiar.

Our starters included the delicious Kebab Platter (a very generous portion), Chicken Malai and Lassoni Salmon (basically Salmon Tikka). The main courses were not quite up to the same high standard, but the Naga Chicken Masala was tasty (if not very hot) and the King Prawn Palak (cooked with spinach and herbs) was distinctive. A Pumpkin Bhaji made for a slightly more unusual vegetable accompaniment.

So — while it is unlikely that you will ever make a special journey to Northfield — if you do happen to be in the area, India India will not disappoint.
