Monkey Temple
I chose this restaurant because on the London map it was midway between where I live and where the person I was meeting lived. Acton is not a very exciting area, so it is not a “destination”, but Monkey Temple might be enough to change my opinion.
The food is described as Nepalese, but there is a section of familiar Indian favourites at the back. Altogether there is a great deal of choice. We decided we should stick to the Nepalese dishes and so we started with Lamb Sekuwa (a spicy tandoori variant) and Chicken Momo, one of the variants of dumplings that they specialise in. Both very good.
For the main course I had to try the Chicken Gurkha (also known as Three Chilli Chicken) because it seemed to be the hottest choice. My colleague chose Kathmandu Lamb. We were both impressed by the flavours — the food was fresh and tasty.
Service was very friendly and the bill was pretty modest. So maybe I should find a reason to return to Acton soon.
