Palms of Goa
Why I booked for 7.00pm on a weekday evening is a bit of a mystery; the place was completely empty when we arrived. However this was very much not the case when we left – every table was full and people were being turned away at the door.
Clearly Palms of Goa is doing something right, and we were indeed not to be disappointed.
We started with the Mix Grill Kebab, a tandoori selection platter that was very generous – to the extent that I couldn’t finish my portion (this is unusual!).
For mains we had Karahi Lamb and Chicken Jalfrezi. Both were excellent – fresh tasting and well cooked. We finished with a couple of perfectly acceptable ice creams from the menu of bought-in desserts.
Service was efficient, and prices were very reasonable (many nearby places charge double for a basic curry). So a very promising start. More visits are required to see if these high standards are consistent.
