Sitara
The theme of this place is jazz. Apparently they often have live music; on the occasion we visited it was pre-recorded and played quite loud. A lot of people would find this a bit intrusive, but I thought it was OK.
The service was friendly, with drinks and pappadoms being served quickly. We shared a couple of tandoori Special Mixed Grills to start things off – so far so good. However we all felt (and there were six of us) that the main courses were disappointing. Our choices included Chicken Jalfrezi, Saag Murg and Rogan Gosht lamb. Everything was a bit dry and lacking in flavour.
At the end they told us we had to pay in cash (who uses cash these days?). So I had to venture to the nearby ATM to draw out the necessaries. Slightly odd – HMRC might be interested.
Good atmosphere, good value and friendly staff. But overall nothing special.
